Dealing with the unexpected

Today, you may wish to wake up in a changed environment, only to end up in an undesirable situation. This will never go well with you. If care is not taken, frustration will shut your doors. Remember when Christ sent his disciples two by two and they failed to cast out the demon? (cf. Matthew 17:14-20). This was an embarrassing situation, especially when they were reported to their master for having failed. In private, they asked, “Why couldn’t we cast out the demon?” Jesus replied, “Because of your little faith. For truly I tell you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you” (Matthew 17:20).

Now we know the obstacle that we are likely to face in our efforts to make a positive impact. At the same time, we are aware of the possibility of creating a negative impact. Our challenge is to answer the question: how can we make a positive impact in our families today? Do we have faith that we will overcome our current challenges?

CALISCO aims to keep you focused on the small concerns of your family members and give an appropriate response after caringly listening to each member. What many fail to appreciate is understanding why people are struggling with their pain. No one wants to go through a painful experience, yet any painful experience can be a lesson for us to renew our perception of reality. Think of what faith offers in a desperate situation? It is the hope that all is not lost. This is the belief we need to have for us to overcome the unexpected in life.
